Why Is The Canon G10 More Than The Newer G11?
The g10 is almost $100.00 more than the g11. i read the specs between the two and found the following on the g11:i-contrastimproved the signal-to-noise ratio by around two stopsup to 3200 iso10 mp vs. 14.2 mptad bigger lcdfaster flash sync (1/ 2000th)a very tiny bit slower on continuous shootingbasically, the low light / high iso performance and the articulating lcd screen.just curious as to why such a disparity between the pricing of the two. To camera experts out there.. please help me. i 'm in a real big dilemma. i really wanna focus on videography and deciding on whether to trade with my father the canon eos 20d he gave me for his canon g10.. although the 20d has no video, i 've really grown attached to it. plus i 'm gonna miss having a dslr. please help me :( i 'm asking him to buy me a 550d but it 's not coming any time soon so i 'm gonna need any "video " camera for now... When i used the teleconverter lens(tc-dc58d) in canon g10 for the first time, it worked out well, but after a month when i used it, it shows only regular view in middle with a dark circle round. i think the lens is not supporting by camera. how can i fix this problem? (Read answers)

Canon G10 Memory Card?
Hi going to oversea soon and i want to buy a new memory card for mycanon g10 (purchased on 2009). i currently have san disk ultra ii 4gb 15mb/ s memory card. i am trying to buy sandisk 16gb ultra secure digital high capacity (sdhc) memory card 15mb/ s do you think its a problem to buy this memory card?i read some old models don 't take new memory card format. for the price, some web site sells as $61 but ebay sells as $35.85why so big difference?reply would be great!thank you (Read answers)

Flash Will Only Fire In Auto Mode. It's A Canon G10?
No matter what i 've tried, can 't fire flash, unless camera is in auto. have been on phone with 2 camera shops and simultaneously trouble shot and still no luck. they said when i press the flash icon (lightning bolt) button on back of camera, i should see something like force flash, auto and something else. when i push this button it takes me to the ' 'built-in flash settings. i 've reset the camera to factory settings and get the same result. any clues?? Why Does My Canon G10 Camera Have Problems Focusing Without The Flash? I Hate Using The Flash. Personally?
I think a perfect camera shouldn 't need one or even have one. quite simply, the camera should be able to see the same way my eyes see. so if my eyes can see something in low light, the camera should also be able to see it and photograph it).but i 'm getting off the subject. i am trying to take pictures of my food inside restaurants that are more than adequately lit by the natural light coming in from the windows. so why, then, is my annoying camera flashing icons on screen, indicating that it is not focusing? (yes i am pressing the shutter button halfway before pressing it completely) this is confirmed by the fact that the resulting pictures are slightly fuzzy (or blurry). this is infuriating. i can just imagine how terrible the pictures will come out when i 'm trying to photograph in real low light. i have used the macro mode to no avail. had i wanted a crappy camera with crappy performance i didn 't have to drop $500 on this thing. i could have gone out and bought a something for $129. i 'm starting to get really pissed off at this cameras performance. I saw on this website flickr.com/ photos/ blackdenimgumby/ 3285943511/ that shaped bokeh can be created by cutting a hole about 8mm in diameter. i tried that and put it on the camera lens, but all i see on the screen is a black surrounding with a hole where i can see through to my subject. can anyone give me a step by step guide? thanks (Read answers)

Canon G10 Repair Help?
Hi!i 'm looking help to repair my camera. i want to know if it 's possible to repair it myself...i 'm pretty sure what the problem is. the thing is when i look at my screen in shooting mode, it 's pitch black (no pressing display won 't do anything), but i can still see the ajustements like the ev steps, iso setting... and all that. when i press the shutter release, it does take a picture, but the picture is also pitch black. when i knock my camera, i can see light flickering on my screen. for me the problem is some kind of loose wire. a wire that connects the sensor with the screen.this problem start happening since i dropped my camera from a 2 foot fall. before, the problem came and went away after. but now, the problem is permanent. the garantee is finished long time ago.what do you think? do you guys think i can do it on my own?thanks in advance!! Don 't tell me to go to canon 's website to download "drivers " and such. this is very problematic, and it 's probably not what i need, anyway. i am talking about the program that is on the cd that comes with the camera. this allows you to upload pictures and modify them. i 'm not talking about some software patches or firmware upgrades. i need the whole camera program. before i waste half my day calling canon, would they be able to sell me a replacement disk? They both look to be available for around the same price.the g10 has more features and stuff, that i can see, and it has liveview and more pixels.but at the end of the day, it 's still a compact. is it comparable to the d40x in terms of image quality?please bear in mind i 'm an amateur, and have never owned a prosumer camera before, let alone a dslr!interesting... but, and i know this is quite blasphemous in the camera world, but i don 't think i 'd be changing lenses.so just bear in mind it 'd be canon g10 vs. canon d40x... with one lens only. I have the canon g10, i usually use it for just taking still shots. there is a video mode on the camera, so i took a video of my subwoofers in my car, i uploaded the video to my computer, and there is absolutely no audio, my speakers on the computer do work!so soes anybody know if this camera has a built in microphone? or why it would not be recording any audio?thanks!
